Dorcas Wangui Shamalla

Dorcas is the Head of Programme Operations at AECF, responsible for developing and implementing scalable and efficient processes, policies, and systems to enable AECF to deliver programs and investments across Africa. She has over 15 years of experience in policy and operations across commercial banking, investment banking, aviation, and the development sector.

Before AECF, she was at Kenya Airways, where she set up and led the inaugural Risk and Compliance Function, supporting Kenya Airways’ turnaround strategy. She has hands-on experience crafting policies, frameworks, and tools to support business operations. She has been involved in establishing risk management functions across various companies, including AECF.

Dorcas holds a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) Degree from Kenyatta University and is pursuing an MBA. She is a member of the Global Association of Risk Professionals, the Institute of Risk Management (IRM), and the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments.
