Caroline Toroitich
Associate Director - Energy
Caroline Toroitich is a seasoned international development professional with over 20 years of experience in energy access, climate change adaptation, and sustainable development across 26 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa.
She previously served as the Senior Technical Advisor for the Power Africa Empower East and Central Africa program at RTI International. She has also consulted for the World Bank’s Regional Infrastructure Finance Facility and SEforALL’s Universal Energy Facility. In addition, she has held senior program management roles at the AECF, Energy4Impact, Rainforest Alliance, and SNV Netherlands Development Organisation. Her expertise spans policy advocacy, private sector development, and the management of grants and technical assistance facilities.
Caroline holds a PhD in Agricultural Extension and Knowledge Management, an MPhil in Environmental Studies, and is a Certified Expert in Climate and Renewable Energy Finance. She is widely recognized for her ability to build strategic partnerships, mobilize resources, and lead high-impact programmes that support governments, development finance institutions, and the private sector in advancing sustainable energy transitions.
She enjoys reading novels and farming in her free time.
