John Kabue

Head of Impact

John Kabue is the Head of Impact at AECF. He has 16 years of experience in Impact Measurement and Management (IMM). He is a thought leader on impact measurements for programs across agribusiness, clean energy, adaptation to climate change, and resilience sectors. He is skilled in designing and implementing organizational impact measurement systems and frameworks for private sector development using DCED standards. He has also specialized in impact report writing, documentation of learning briefs, research methodologies, and utilization of impact data analytics to inform learning for adaptive programming and management.

Before joining AECF, John worked for USAID Resilience Learning Activity implemented by ACDI/VOCA as a Technical Lead for data analytics covering the Horn of Africa region (Kenya, Somalia, Ethiopia, Sudan, Uganda, & DRC Congo). He spearheaded the institutional migration of the impact database system from Microsoft Access to ActivityInfo and improvements of the overall LEAP system (Learning Evaluation & Analysis Platform), leading to a presidential recognition award in 2022. He has also held leadership positions in RTI International for USAID Feed the Future program and Mercy Corps’ Youth Labs Initiative.

John holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Daystar University and a Master’s in Project Planning and Management from the University of Nairobi. He also has a certification in monitoring and evaluation from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg University and a DCED standards certification.
