Veronica Jakarasi

Veronica Nonhlanhla Jakarasi is the Head of Climate Finance at AECF. She is an aspiring Chartered Development Finance Expert with diverse background in the fields of climate finance, environment and climate diplomacy, climate change and gender, sustainability and long termism in programming. She has 14 years of professional experience in resource mobilization, environment, natural resources and climate change management.

Prior to joining AECF, Veronica worked with the Infrastructure Development Bank of Zimbabwe as the Manager for Climate Finance and Sustainability. She supported the Bank’s accreditation to the Green Climate Fund and established the organization’s Climate Finance Facility. She also served as the Deputy Director for Climate Change Management under the Ministry of Environment, Water and Climate in Zimbabwe. Veronica is a seasoned climate change negotiator, currently supporting the African Group of Negotiators (AGN) in advancing Africa’s climate priorities in the global climate negotiations.

Veronica holds a master’s degree in Environmental Policy and Planning and a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Environmental Science from the University of Zimbabwe. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Development Finance with the University of Cape Town.
