Angelous Kamande

Head, Investments Advisory Services

Angelous Kamande is the Investment Manager at the AECF and leads the Investments Unit in the delivery of value-add services on investment readiness and investment facilitation to AECF portfolio companies. In his current role, he also supports the development of new innovations and products to increase access to finance and build the capacity of African SMEs.

Before this role, he was the Strategy Advisor for 4 years, where he led the implementation of the AECF strategy 2018 – 2020. In this role, he provided strategic oversight to senior leadership and implemented the balance scorecard framework to track performance and convert strategic goals into tactical plans for efficient execution. He also spearheaded the development of the refreshed strategy for 2021 – 2025 and kickstarted its implementation with a design thinking approach to drive innovation across the organization.

Prior to joining AECF, Angelous spent 8 years in management consulting, developing strategy for SME growth and expansion, structuring investment vehicles and facilities, and raising capital for SMEs from multiple sectors across sub-Saharan Africa. He led many efficient management projects and managed diverse teams (multi-cultural, interdepartmental, senior- and Board-level) in the delivery of complex projects from structuring public-private partnerships, designing a country water distribution sustainability plan to designing a regional catalytic trust fund.

He is an MSc. Financial Economics finalist from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, holds a Bachelors’ Degree in Commerce (accounting major) from Kenyatta University and is a part qualified ACCA. Angelous also holds a Strategy Execution certificate from Harvard Business School.
