About AAW Window
The AECF Agribusiness Africa Window (AAW) is a special fund of the AECF that is open to business ideas across Africa. The AECF AAW supports business ideas in the fields of agribusiness, financial services and value chains which extend across Africa and international markets. Business ideas that qualify for funding must have positive impact on the rural poor: delivering increased employment reduced costs and improved productivity poor.
A total of 22 projects - six in Kenya, three in Mozambique and the rest spread out in Cote d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Malawi, Nigeria, Rwanda, Uganda and Zambia were awarded funding to implement their innovative business ideas. For more information click here.

In keeping with its goal of accelerating pro-poor growth in Africa through increasing employment, livelihood opportunities and incomes, the AECF supports grantee projects in 23 African countries. These projects are as a result of 20 competitions completed and more than 6,113 applications received over the 7 years of AECF existence. The projects have specific focus areas in agriculture, agribusiness, renewable energy, adaptation to climate change and access to information and financial services.
